An adoring celestial deity rises from the foliage. This remarkable
bronze must have formed part of a large and very grand
decorative surround, perhaps flanking a major cult image.
Monumental bronzes are known to have been a feature of
Angkorian Cambodia, and a number are mentioned in a 13thcentury
Chinese description of the city.
