Drinking glasses , filigree (vetro a fili) Britain (London), 1940-55 made by Fritz Lampl, at Orplid glassworks Gift of Raymond Berger (C.337 338,339,340,341,342-1993) Fritz Lampl came from Vienna, where his glassworks was named 'Bimini'. He settled in Hampstead, London. The Orplid glassworks, run as a studio workshop, was in Soho. The drinking glasses here are displayed with fashion accessories also made by Fritz Lampl, part of a larger group from the Collections of the Textiles & Dress Department and donated by Raymond Berger. Lampl's table and ornamental glass was shown in the Festival of Britain, 1951 .(18/06/2009)
