Object history | Bought from Denis E. Bower for £31. 10s. |
Historical context | The bronze seems to have a resemblance to the group of the same subject in the Santo at Padua signed by Riziano Asptetti. However in a letter to the Director Dr Planischig expresses his opinion that the bronze is Franco-Flemish work about 1600 before also attributing it to an unknown Sienese Master of the beginning of the 16th century. |
