This alabaster, entitled 'Visus', Sight, is from a series of sixteenth century reliefs related to the senses. It depicts a seated woman and a man in a wide brimmed felt hat behind her. His right arm is round her shoulders and he touches her breast with his left hand.

Relief, 'Visus', alabaster from a set of the senses. To the left is seated a woman in the costume of the period, behind her a man with a wide brimmed felt hat, his right arm is round her shoulders, while he touches her breast with his left hand. Painted in block letters on the base 'VISUS'. In early frame of rough black wood with gilded mouldings.

Purchased for £15 (with A.39-1931 and A.40-1931) for £15 from F. Stevens, South Wilts and Blackmore Museum.
