This alabaster relief 'odoratus', or scent, depicts a seated lady holding a basket of flowers on her knees. With her left hand she holds up a flower to the nose of a man beside her. In the background to the left a pedestal with a vase of flowers. This is one of a series of 16th century reliefs from the Netherlands which relate to the senses.
