American Vogue, 1927
Steichen’s pictures for Vogue were the antithesis of Baron Adolf De Meyer’s hazy confections. Here, he draws attention to the tiny sequins and delicate gauze of this gown by Chéruit, a Parisian designer who shared his fascination with the effect of light on fabric.
