Label text: Baron George Hoyningen-Huene (1900–68) Bettina Jones and male model wear beachwear by Schiaparelli British Vogue, 1928 The designer Elsa Schiaparelli had close contacts with the Surrealists, especially Salvador Dalí. Although this swimwear is understated in comparison to her other designs, the photographer introduces a surreal note by placing a half-seen mannequin at the top of the scene.
