This silver medal is from Jernegan's Lottery held in 1736. Each purchaser of a lottery ticker to win an engraved silver cistern was presented with one of these medals. The obverse shows Minerva with a spear and palm-branch standing between a pile of arms and emblems of the arts and sciences. The reverse shows Queen Caroline watering a grove of young palm- trees.

The obverse shows Minerva with a spear and palm-branch standing between a pile of arms and emblems of the arts and sciences. Rev., Queen Caroline watering a grove of young palm-trees. Obv. BOTH HANDS FILLED FOR BRITAIN; in the exergue, GEROEG REIGNING. Rev. GROWING ARTS ADORN EMPIRE: in the exergue, CAROLINE PROTECTING 1736. The queen is crowned and holds a sceptre in her right hand. |
