Temple banner of embroidered cotton with silks. It is composed from a number of sections. The major deity is Vishnu and his consort Laksmi seated on the eagle Garuda attended by his weapon-bearers (ayudhapurusa). Above is the lotus-enthroned figure of Balarama and others.

| Object history | This textile belongs to a rare group of early Nepalese textiles, the date of which has been confirmed by radio-carbon testing. It consists of a number of sections, and from a single source which have been made up into the upper section of a temple banner mount. This adaptation probably took place in a Tibetan monastery, where such banners are still to be seen today. |
