This seal impression has as its central motif a crowned mythical snake (naga) rising from a lotus support. Such symbolism is associated with the ruling households of central Java, where the crowned naga forms a recurring motif in court regalia. This seal was probably used on a documents or money box at one of the courts of central Java.
