Seated figure of Buddha Sakyamuni. Buddha seatedon a lotus throne surmounted on a stepped rectangular base with a ‘knotted rope’ or garland on the front elevation. His left hand rests upturned in his lap, and the fingers on his right hand sit in bhūmisparśa mudrā or ‘earth-touching’ gesture. Lower section of backplate are intact, with flaming border; upper section missing.
