Physical description

Watercolour copy of a tapestry border on the front of the Minstrel Gallery in the Great Hall at Hampton Court, the borders are probably Flemish, woven for Henry VIII (1509-1547).

Object history note

William George Thomson was an artist and tapestry historian. In 1906 and 1914 he wrote a History of Tapestry and Tapestry Weaving in England.
