Purchased from the artist, now resident in London. Previously exhibited at the National Fine Art Museum, Beijing in 1986.

Notes on significance: Artist's notes in register: created using woodcut techniques. Flames have some resemblance to stags' horns, and deer are anciently associated with fire.
