| Object history | Purchased from the artist, now resident in London. Previously exhibited at the National Fine Art Museum, Beijing and Hong Kong Joint-Publishing Exhibition Hall in 1986 Notes on significance: Artist's notes in register: made at the peak of an exceptionally fertile period. The inspiration derives from folk paper cuts and borrows from 'minjian' Han dynasty stone carving. The design also has associations with happiness and good luck |
