Three-quarter length, standing in profile to left, but turning her face towards the camera with a questioning expression. Leaning against, and resting one hand upon a carved and gilded table. Wearing a silk gown embroidered with sequins forming 'bow' shapes, and a pearl necklace. In the background, an oval shaped painting of a baby in a gilded frame, is hung surrounded by a ribbon-like wall decoration.

1942
After each royal sitting, Beaton would send a selection of the best photographs to the Palace for official approval before publication. Small prints of the approved photographs would be mounted on card, together with their negative numbers, to facilitate future print orders. The worn-out nature of this card indicates how frequently it must have been referred to by Beaton and his assistants.
