The Queen’s Coronation gown was designed by Norman Hartnell. It was exquisitely embroidered with the floral emblems of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries, including the English Tudor rose, Scots thistle, Welsh leek, Irish shamrock, Australian wattle flower, New Zealand silver fern, Canadian maple leaf, South African protea, lotus flowers for India and Ceylon, and wheat, cotton and jute for Pakistan.
