Physical description

Photograph depicting Queen Elizabeth II, Buckingham Palace, 1955. She is dressed in a long velvet cloak; decorated with ribbons at the shoulders (known as the robes of the Sovereign of the Order of the Garter), and a matching hat with a large plume. She wears a decorative medallion. Seated, three-quarter length, she is smiling and facing the camera. A painted backdrop depicts an exterior view of Windsor Castle.
