Physical description

Photograph depicting Queen Elizabeth II, Buckingham Palace, 1955. She is standing, full-length, upon a richly patterned carpet in a drawing-room scene. She is wearing a gown with narrow shoulder straps, a dark coloured sash, and a diamond crown. She holds her hands together at her waist. Turning her head towards a point to one side of the camera, her face seen slightly in profile, she looks ahead in contemplation.
