Doorway curtain (noren). Indigo-dyed hemp with stencilled resist (katazome) decoration.The rectangular curtain, which has seven loops for suspension, is decorated with a single centrally placed stencilled reist design of two fish within a ring. The fish and ring are decorated with floral designs in indigo against the natural hemp colour of the resisted area. The curtain is divided from the centre of the lower edge to a point about 25cm below the top edge. Paper bag.
