From 1979 to 1992 Herbert Franke created artworks using the computer and image analysis system ‘Dibias’. It was initially developed for processing optical data from satellite photography. During this period the artist collaborated with Horst Helbig, a computer programmer and together they explored mathematical visualisations. This picture has a fractal configuration and certain aspects of the image are repeated in changing directions and measurements.
