G.A. Harvey Factory
Woolwich
1948
This factory in South East London, operating from 1913, produced all kinds of metalwork, ranging from domestic and office items, such as dustbins and storage cabinets, to industrial steelwork. The fountain of sparks in the background of this picture creates instant drama, cascading onto the workers who, remarkably, wear no protective clothing.
