‘Whenever I look at this picture, I recall the happy atmosphere,’ Broomfield noted, describing the conversation of the women in the South London factory. ‘Above the sounds of clinking bottles, jokes, accompanied with peals of laughter, were being exchanged across the conveyor line.’
