Object history | Purchased by Lady Charlotte Schreiber from Collins, Brighton, for £2 15 shillings in March 1871 |
Production | This transfer-print also occurs on porcelain made at the Liverpool factory of Philip Christian (examples dated 1768 are recorded) and, with variations, on tiles printed in Liverpool by John Sadler. The coffee pot does not, however, appear to be a Philip Christian production (for the characteristics of Philip Christian coffee pots, see Maurice Hillis, Liverpool Porcelain, 2011, pp. 252-3) |
