This carved wood statuette is probably of German origins. Hercules is shown carrying the struggling figure of Deianira, who he supports with both arms on his right thigh. His right foot is planted on the prostrate figure of Acheolous.

Physical description
Group in carved and painted wood. Hercules carrying off Deianeira from Achelous. Hercules wearing the lion's skin holds Deianeira up in his arms which his right foot presses on Achelous, who is on his hands and feet in the act of falling backwards.
