Box and lid, porcelain painted in greyish blue, with spots of green enamel probably added at a later date.
Globular, flattened at top and bottom, with slightly recessed foot; the lower part has an inner flange to hold the cover in place. The dots of green enamel seem to be rather indiscriminately applied in the spaces of the pattern; they may date from the later Ming period.
