Physical description

Bedding cover (futonji) of hand spun plain weave cotton consisting of four loom widths seamed together vertically. The seams are sewn with black cotton and further secured with white long and short stitches which show on the right side.
The design, in grey (faded from black) against a white ground, consists of a stylised chrysanthemum scroll and was made by the resist-paste and stencil method.
