Physical description
Medal, gilt bronze, struck from a die, commemorating the visit of the King of Denmark to the City of London, 8th July 1893. Obv.: CHRISTIANUS IX ET LOUISE D: G: DANIAE V: G: REX ET REGINA. Busts superposed to right. Rev.: WELCOME CHRISTIAN IX TO LONDON 8TH JULY 1893. A seated female figure representing the City of London, holding an address in her right hand and supporting with her left arm a standard and a shield of arms of the City. In the backgound, the Guildhall and a pedestal supporting a casket and bearing the royal arms of Denmark. Stamped with the mark of the Paris mint.
