Writing box, red lacquer with gold and black takamaki-e (high sprinkled design) lacquer with design of dragon and clouds, signed Shimizu Ichidayu Masatomo, Japan, 1626.

A suzuribako (writing box), wood covered in red lacquer with gold and black takamakie (high sprinkled design) lacquer, decorated with a dragon and clouds on the outside, and asarum and water on the inside in gold and silver lacquer.
