During his visit to England the Corporation of the City of London invited the Sultan to an entertainment which included a ball and supper in his honour.

Medal, bronze, struck from a die, commemorating the visit of the Sultan of Turkey to the City of London, 18th July 1867. Obv.: ABDULAZIZ OTHOMANORUM IMPERATOR LONDINIUM INVISIT MDCCCLXVII. Bust to right. Rev.: WELCOME. The City if London receiving Turkey, both represented by femail figures. In the background, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Mosque of Sultan Achmet at Constantinople.
