Production
date: 'Purports to be about 1770'; Stated by A. J. B. Kiddell of Sotheby's to be a forgery painted in Holland 'specially made to deceive Churchill'. RH says it is a forgery - cf. the cover of Bickerton which shows an identical scene in polychrome.
