This bronze medal was awarded as a prize at the Paris Exhibition of 1900. The obverse is inscribed with. 'L'EXPOSITION DE PARIS 1900' an depicts a seated female figure representing the city of Paris, holding a laurel branch; on the ground, a lyre, a palette, and oak leaves. On the reverse a warship, an aeroplane, a hammer, an anvil and various scientific instruments are shown. Above there is a tablet and palm branch. The medal is signed by George Lemaire and is stamped with the mark of the Paris mint.
