Physical description

Stoneware bowl, with incised decoration, partly covered with a celadon-green glaze. A "waster" from the kiln. Found near the site of the ancient potteries at Sawankalok.
Mis-shapen in the kiln; the outside fluted, the inside incised with horizontal lines round the rim and a four petalled flower on the bottom.

Object history note

Found near kiln site. Made not later than the 15th century and perhaps as early as the reign of Phra Ruang in the 13th century. Bought in a set (Nos. 479 - 521, £220)
