Physical description

Bottle, stoneware covered with greenish-grey glaze.
It has a fluted ovoid body with a horizontally reeded shoulder, a short narrow neck with expanding mouth and two small loop handles.

Object history note

Found near kiln site. Made not later than the 15th century and perhaps as early as the reign of Phra Ruang in the 13th century. Bought in a set (Nos. 479 - 521, £220).

Labels and date

Bottle of porcelain, covered with a greenish-grey glaze. Found near the site of the ancient potteries at Sawankalok. Made not later than the 15th century and perhaps as early as the reign of Phra Ruang in the 13th century. SIAMESE. H. 3 1/2 in., diam. 2 3/4 in. Bought (Nos. 479-521, £220). 488-1906.
