Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Man's nightcap of cream silk taffeta, in 4 shaped sections with rounded crown, turned-up brim. It is hand-painted in pattern of green and and yellow leaves, red flowers and cherries. As the brim and crown are one piece, the former was painted on the wrong side of the silk, so that the right side of the painting would show when the brim was turned up.
