Dish, stoneware with Jun-type glaze, Japan, Kyoto, by Kawai Kanjiro, about 1928
Physical description
A shallow dish with rounded spreading sides everted at the rim, and small low tapering foot with ring finished flat; unglazed base. Rather thickly-potted light grey stoneware covered with a translucent, glassy pale celadon-green glaze developing opaque bluish areas, and having two splashes inside and three outside of strawberry-red shading to purple.
