Mug of earthenware transfer-printed in black enamel, and barrel-shaped with a spreading base and mouth, outlined in red, and a scroll handle. To the front is a portrait-bust of William Pitt, afterwards first Earl of Chatham, with military and other trophies among rococo scrolls. On a scrolled ribbon are inscribed 'THE RIGHT HON. WILLM. PITT ESQ.'.

Mug of earthenware transfer-printed in black enamel, and barrel-shaped with a spreading base and mouth, and a scroll handle, transfer-printed by Sadler and Green, possibly engraved by Thomas Billinge, in Liverpool, made at Josiah Wedgwood's factory, ca. 1765.

To the front is a portrait-bust of William Pitt, afterwards first Earl of Chatham, with military and other trophies among rococo scrolls. On a scrolled ribbon are inscribed 'THE RIGHT HON. WILLM.
