The Temptation of Adam and Eve. Tin-glazed earthenware dish, painted in blue, yellow, turquoise green and manganese-purple. It is decorated with oblique blue dashes, three blue lines and two yellow lines at the rim. The underside is covered with a clear glaze. Body colour: Pinkish buff. Glaze: Dull pinkish cream with whiter spots on the front. A greyish lead-glaze with some areas and streaks of tin-glaze over a pale slip covers the entire back. Remains of two stilt points (?) within the foot-rim (6.5 cms point to point), which has probably been partially wiped clean of glaze. Shape: Shape A without groove at rim and with foot-rim similar to Shape B. Foot pierced with one hole before firing.
