Curtain

1930-1939 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Cream cretonne curtain printed in bright red, yellow, blue and green with spot motifs of a broadly rural theme: a farmhouse, a bird, flowers, the sun, tufts of grass, a crowing cockerel, trees, a man leading a horse which is pulling a haycart, a woman catching poultry, grazing lambs, a turkey, a dog. At some point the curtain has been joined together and patched with pieces of fabric in the same design but a different colourway: pink, ochre, blue and pine green. The curtain is lined with cream cotton, and has a length of adjustable curtain tape stitched to the upper edge and threaded with brass curtain rings.
