Object history
The following reference has been taken from Calloway, S. (1998). Aubrey Beardsley. V & A Publications:

'In February 1894 Oscar Wilde wrote to the celebrated actress 'Mrs Pat.' asking permission to present Beardsley. Shortly afterwards she gave Beardsley a sitting for this drawing; Wilde owned the [original] drawing for a while until it was dispersed along with all his books and other treasures in the disastrously shambolic auction of his possessions at Tite Street in 1895'.
