Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Dating to the late Choson dynasty (1392-1910), this porcelain bottle is covered in an iron-brown glaze. Depending upon where they were made, iron-glazed wares of this period vary slightly in colour. As they were only manufactured on a small scale, and since surviving examples are limited, it is difficult to establish specific places of origin. The V&A has three such pieces in its collection.
