Physical description

Featuring a domestic interior with Don Quixote sitting at a table (right) laden with books. At the back of the room are two windows, one shuttered up. The table has a heavy cloth over it. Besides books on the table and floor, there is also a book shelf on the wall. To the left of the image is a fireplace and mantlepiece with ornaments, above which is a decorative arrangement of armour, like a trophy.
