Physical description

Jug, tin glazed buff earthenware, decorated with coloured glaze; on the main body hand painted blue flowers outlined in black; yellow painted bands around the lip, base and also on the loop handle, which has orange and brown banding. Small globular body with high wide neck.

Descriptive line

Jug, tin glazed earthenware, decorated in coloured glaze with blue flowers on the main body and yellow bands around the lip, base and on the loop handle; made in Montelupo, late 19th century.

Production Note

Mr Herman Hart attributed this vase to Montelupo in his accompanying acquisition notes. Mr Hart was the manager of a series of international exhibitions and collected pottery on his travels in Europe.
