Dish of ‘Pearlware’ lead-glazed earthenware painted in high temperature underglaze colours (‘Pratt-ware’). Oval in shape with a wavy edge interrupted at each end by handles in the form of stems in open relief, from which hang vine-leaves and a cluster of grapes moulded in low relief on the surface. The sides are decorated with applied reliefs of a shepherd and shepherdess gathering grapes (repeated twice), a cupid in an orange-tree (twice), the moon and seven stars, the sun and a flying bird, scattered sheep, some with lambs, and two shepherd's crooks. The leaves are painted dull green, and the other details are in orange and blue.
