Place of origin

This thinly potted celadon wine cup has an inverted rim. Three chrysanthemum flowers and stems are finely incised on the exterior. The inside bottom is delicately incised with wave patterns. A pale greenish-blue glaze with a gentle sheen is evenly applied to the entire surface of the cup. The foot bears three spur marks made of refractory clay mixed with sand. It is thought that the dish was produced at a kiln in Sadang-ri, Gangjin, in the early 13th century.
