Or are you just pleased to see me?

Poster
1994
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This is a poster advertising a bra made by Playtex. This poster campaign, featuring the model Eva Herzigova, was unusual in using the large scale billboard site to advertise a product which hitherto had been confined to press advertising. This is a reduced version of the huge 48-sheet poster pasted up on the hoardings. The campaign was provocative and uncompromising in its message with challenging slogans like 'Hello Boys' and 'Or are you just pleased to see me?'. Although the creators had to defend the poster against allegations of sexism, it soon became an iconic image for the mid 1990s.
