Sylvia Melland was originally a painter who attended the Euston Road School during the 1930s but is now more renowned for her printmaking. This early print reveals a talent for printmaking that would eventually see her elected to the Royal Society of Printer-Etchers. This topographical drypoint is figurative and stands in marked contrast to her later more abstract prints.
