Object history
This is one of a series of fashion illustrations (E.230-1997 to E.255-1997) from the second collection produced by Christian Brogi for the British casual menswear company, Sonneti. Brogi worked on this collection with David Blundell; however, all of the designs and illustrations in this collection of material are by Brogi. At the start of 1997, Brogi was promoted to head designer by Sonneti. Brogi worked initially in pencil on paper. The image was then outlined with various point sizes of black fine liner ink pens, to give basic definition. This black and white image was then scanned and manipulated digitally using computer software, in order to add shade and achieve fabric-like effects. The end result is a highly finished, glossy illustration. Brogi’s style encompasses practical outdoor-wear with the popular 1990’s culture of snow and skate-boarding ‘streetwear’.
