i-D, 1995
This photograph featured in one of Jamil’s earliest fashion shoots for i-D magazine, titled mi vida loca: boriqua girls of the bronx. It showcased the styles of women of Puerto Rican descent living in the Bronx, a New York suburb. Throughout the late 1990s i-D also commissioned Jamil to photograph leading hip-hop and R&B musicians such as Sean Combs and Mary J. Blige.
