Nigel Shafran’s Ruthbook is a sequence of chronologically ordered photographs taken between June 1992 and January 1995. The images reflect the nuances of a relationship over time and demonstrate Shafran’s process of staying attuned to the possibilities within everyday subjects. He used an understated photographic style, ambient lighting and long exposures to create a poetic observation of domestic life. (19/03/2012)
