This photograph is a reproduction of a computer-generated plotter drawing by John Szabo. The original design was created using a Calcomp computer plotter.
Szabo's original artwork is also reproduced in the book published to accompany Cybernetic Serendity, an exhibition held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in 1968 (p.91).
The photograph was donated to the V&A by the Computer Arts Society, which organised a number of exhibitions in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
